An All Inclusive Beach Day Near Panama City
Welcome to Panama City, the tropical metropolis of Latin America boasting a downtown and historic center compared to none other in Central America. Fueled by the big dollars flooding out from the Panama Canal, the city is situated along the Pacific coast, but do to continued urban development and the expansion of the “Cinta Costera” which is the main avenue that runs down the coast in the heart of downtown.
What was once a two lane beachfront boulevard is now a 9 lane highway named the Cinta Costera that was built using the land fill technique most notably seen in Dubai to form luxury island oasis from nothing. This has lead to the destruction of the once highly visited downtown beach.
As of now there are no beaches in Panama City, only marinas.
So if you’re in Panama City for a couple days and tired of staring at the ocean unable to take advantage of it then I have a solution for you – The Westin Playa Bonita. An all inclusive beach resort just outside the city.
Located approximately 30 minutes outside of the city across the Bridge of the Americas you will find Playa Bonita, which is a man made beach with imported white sand and the all inclusive resort run by the Westin.
One of the best kept secrets that I am here to enlighten anyone who reads this, is that you do not need to rent a room at the Westin in order to enjoy this all inclusive escape on the closest beach from Panama City. Though it is not advertised, you can buy day passes to the resort including access poolside open bar, a lunch buffet, snacks, and full access to the pools and beach.
Activities on the Beach
Sit back and relax on the beach with a cocktail in hand or grab a kayak and head out into the protected cove. Depending on the day, locals from the nearby town of Veracruz may be wondering down the beach on horseback, offering up their horses for beach rides.
How Much Does this All Inclusive Beach Day Cost
At the reasonable price of $150 per person the price includes round trip transport from Panama City and all that was listed above.
In comparison to chartering a yacht for the day, you would be looking at paying $150-200 per person for the all inclusive experience on a private yacht.
These are the two primary options for getting out on the water in Panama City. Other than these you would need to travel at least 1 hour west from the city to find a decent enough public beach. So if you want to enjoy a nice day at the beach with all the comforts then the Playa Bonita option is the best offer.
Why sacrifice experience to save a few dollars?
